Time Management (2010) – A Zombie Film by Michael J. Sirois (720p HD)

Time Management (2010), dir. Michael J. Sirois. | Hudson is a college undergrad, and until recently he had been the ideal student: good grades and good ethic. However, after procrastinating and deciding to cheat for the first time, he is suddenly trapped in a zombie apocalypse. Upon seeing his neighbor torn to shreds by the undead, Hudson locks himself in his dorm room and descends into the life of a college slacker. I wrote, directed, composed the music and edited this film. Shot with a Canon XL-2 and edited with Final Cut Pro. Special thanks to Equalibrum for his song “Time Management”, which is used in the film and the only one I didn’t compose myself. Here’s more of his work: www.youtube.com/equalibeats

very good, I was a little dissapointed when the character got the gun all of a sudden, but when I found out he didnt REALLY have it, that set your movie apart from any other zombie movie/short Ive seen

excelent music, i like it, liked the intro seen with the fast forward caracter.
Is the guitar bit your music too?

I had a friend in my teens, He loved the film Leathal weapon a lot. He smoked weed to much and ended with a gun in his mouth for real ! In switzerland, army is obligatory and you supposed to keep the army guns at home. At 18 he had such a gun ! its sad, he was my best friend in those days. For some weed can be fun, in the end its a just a drug that leads to depression.

@smartti1970 Thanks for your response! I composed all of the music in this film except for the song that plays during the scene where he counts his food supply. The guitar song that you mentioned is a song I wrote and recorded called “Love on a Bed of Nails”.

Interesting concept however here is my 2 cents worth:

why would your cloths get ripped after 7days? Narration is very nice indeed. I’d cut it much shorter though it was dragging at times, could have been told in 5 mins… Some of the angles where great, but next time don’t use a dolly shot if it isn’t smooth… I’ve done it in the past too and it just isn’t cool ey… also the blood on the wall… I’d try to avoid it if it isn’t look like how it should. One good way around it is a fast cut…

Excellent! Really nice cinematography and editing. I like your use of speed manipulation to progress long amounts of time; it’s really effective. The diegetic dialogue quality wasn’t the best, but the voice over and sound track were great! I especially like the rumbling when he creeps out of his room, it’s very disorienting, and reflects how the character feels.

MichaelSirois @ 8:13 am #

@ClaytonOrgles I truly appreciate you taking the time to watch my film and I’m glad you enjoyed it. You speak in clear cinematic terms, which makes it easier for a film school filmmaker such as myself to analyze criticism. I agree about the diegetic sound at certain points, but I made this film by locking both myself and the actor in a room. There was no crew, just me and my camera and Hudson and his room. I did all editing, sound design and most of the music by myself. It’s tough. Oh well. :]

@putootey ^_^ Thanks putootey.

@mwige Hi Magnus! I’m glad you enjoyed my film and I appreciate that you took time to watch it. I’ll check out your channel when I’m not sitting in Paranormal Cinema class and can’t listen to the sound. Stay in touch!

MichaelSirois @ 8:16 am #

@Skillzmd1 I plan on doing one. I actually may end up doing something a bit different first. I had an idea to do a vignette of four different short films that compose an entire film. Each story represents a different struggle for survival during a zombie apocalypse. I have story concepts already done, I just need a budget. Help me find a producer so I can get money! ^_^

MichaelSirois @ 8:17 am #

@cdfrank1in Thank you! There will be more to come. With each film I gain more experience, so hopefully you’ll enjoy my next one even more!

MichaelSirois @ 8:27 am #

@andrewdude1313 ^_^ I was trying to play with the audience’s knowledge of convention. A poorly made zombie film has characters randomly pulling machine guns out of their pockets and blasting away hordes of zombies. Some viewers actually wont even notice the gun appearing as unusual because they’re so used to convention, while others such as yourself notice it and then think as you described. I’m glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate the time you took watching it. There will be more to come! :]

Hey y’all! I’m the actor in this film and I just want to thank everyone for the kind words and crticism. Acting was my first love and since I quit during high school to pursue music full time (Check out the youtube channels TheReverendRobot for my solo material and JenovaTron for me and Mike’s band!) I’m a little hesitant to put myself out there that much. Y’all are great and I’m really glad you liked the movie so much! Stay tuned! Mike and I started work on a new one today!
