I don’t necessarily have problems with focus wile (sorry my typing skills suffer somuch I never really touch typed enough to be come very proficient, but for the most part, I can complete a document relatively quickly

The candle idea is a great idea, the flicker keeps your mind somewhat more active, todays world is filled with lots of distractions and the mind becomes used to something moving all the time, like the flickering of a television, lights and sounds. Plus it may keep you grounded by reminded you of the magic of the natural life and the elements.
